Advertisement for JRF position for a SAC-ISRO funded project

Applications are invited from motivated candidates with good academic records for JRF position to work at DA-IICT on sponsored research project financed by “Space Applications Center-ISRO Ahmedabad under their NavIC GAGAN Utilization Programme scheme.

The project details, requisite qualification & experience etc. are given below:

Title of the Project: WINS-A Wi-Fi and INS assisted NavIC for extended semi-outdoor/indoor location services.

Position and Fellowship: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – 1 position
Consolidated salary Rs. 37,000/- p.m. + 27% HRA
Essential Qualification:

M.Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical/ ICT)
or
equivalent Background in Wireless communication and networks

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Sound knowledge in wireless communications/wireless networks
  • Good Knowledge of programming in C/C++/Java and data
  • Analysis using Python.
  • CSIR-UGC NET/ GATE qualified
Period of Appointment: Posts are purely temporary for a duration of 3 years. Appointment will be made initially for 1 year and further extendable subject to satisfactory performance. It would, therefore, not confer any right for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in DA-IICT. However, the selected candidate will be encouraged to apply for the PhD program of DA-IICT as per the available guidelines.
Job Description:
  • Conduct extensive data collection using smartphones across different indoor/outdoor locations
  • Design novel machine learning technique using multi-sensor data
  • Develop and build navigation systems augmenting NavIC satellite data with phone based data

Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on their CV, qualifications and experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview and the candidates are required to attend at their own expenses, no TA/DA will be provided. During interview, the knowledge of candidates will be assessed in the areas of wireless communications/networking, programming and basics of machine learning.
