Internal Complaints Committee

DA-IICT aims to provide safe working and learning campus life for faculty, staff and students free from gender discrimination and sexual harassment. It further cultivates the atmosphere where men and women work together towards the growth and prosperity of the institution in a safe and healthy academic environment.

The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) shall be responsible for Redressal of formal complaints on gender discrimination and sexual harassment and to redress it. It shall receive complaints, conduct inquiries and recommend disciplinary action, if any, in accordance with the provisions of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment in the Workplace (POSH) Act and UGC guidelines deriving from the same.

Any written complaint of sexual harassment by the aggrieved women shall be submitted directly to the Internal Complaints Committee by sending an email to icc[at]daiict[dot]ac[dot]in. Any aggrieved woman may make, in writing, a complaint of sexual harassment to the ICC within a period of three months from the date of incident and in case of a series of incidents, within a period of three months from the date of last incident. Exceptions to this timeline may apply: please refer to the policy for more details.

The ICC is bound by law to maintain confidentiality and committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of complainants.

The Institute has reconstituted the Gender Cell Committee effective from June 5, 2024.

Terms of Reference:

The Gender Cell will be responsible for policy guidelines and implementation strategies.

The Gender Cell will:

  • Provide guidelines for protection from sexual harassment.
  • Advise DA-IICT from time to time in matters of sexual harassment.
  • For dealing with complaints, prepare detailed guidelines relating to what would constitute harassment and other acts that affect the dignity of a person.
  • Deal with complaints received or referred to the cell in respect of all kinds of sexual harassment to a person.
  • Conduct inquiry and send recommendations to the director.
  • Recommend to the competent authority (the Director) of the Institute from time to time measures that should be taken to deter any kind of sexual harassment.
  • Deal with such other matters and issues connected with sexual harassment to a person.
  • Arrange orientation sessions for students and staff in the matters of gender sensitization.
