Message From Director

Dr. Tathagata Bandyopadhyay

Dr. Tathagata Bandyopadhyay

As the alumni of DA-IICT mark two decades of significant contributions to society, we reflect on the visionary ideals of the late Shree Dhirubhai Ambani, an iconic industrialist, the nation's one of the greatest wealth creators, whose everlasting and deep impact resonates in Indian corporate history. Since its inception, our university has been dedicated to pioneering research and innovation in cutting-edge information and communication technology (ICT). Now, we are planning to broaden our scope of activities to other disciplines like law, management and health sciences to name a few leading to the evolution of DA-IICT into a multidisciplinary "Dhirubhai Ambani University (DAU)."

Our achievements have been recognized through various accolades and honours, including being named the Best University for Innovation in Gujarat in 2017 and receiving the Centre of Excellence Award from the Gujarat Government in 2022. We remain steadfast in our commitment to the founding vision of cultivating “a knowledge driven society rooted in intellectual competitiveness for global leadership.”

The remarkable professional accomplishments of our alumni post DA-IICT, I am confident, would inspire young talents to choose DA-IICT as their preferred destination for pursuing their dreams.

I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet each of you personally, to hear about your life experiences, and to share the present activities and future plan of our institute. Your visit would be greatly valued, and you are most welcome to return to your alma mater at any time you feel like. I look forward to the opportunity to reconnect and extend my best wishes to you all!

Dr. Anil Roy

Dear Esteemed Alumni

Warm greetings from the Office of the Dean of Alumni and External Relations! As the custodians of your cherished memories and the torchbearers of our institution's rich legacy, we wholeheartedly extend our gratitude for your invaluable contributions in order to make us, your teachers, proud of you.

Today, I reach out to you with a profound sense of pride and enthusiasm, as we embark on a new chapter in our journey of fostering lifelong connections with our esteemed alumni community formally. We firmly believe that the bond between our alumni and their Alma Mater remains an everlasting thread that weaves together the past, present, and future of DA-IICT.

Alumni are the real "return on investment" of an Alma Mater. Our first batch of alumni was produced in 2004 when MTech (ICT) and MSc (IT) students of 2002-2004 batch graduated. Next year, in 2005, the first BTech (ICT) batch of alumni added to it and then it got compounded year-on-year. Today we have a great portfolio of accomplished alumni spread not only from Kashmir to Kanyakumari but all over the world. In India they are clustered in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune.

The aim of this message is to emphasize the significance of maintaining a strong and vibrant relationship with your beloved Alma Mater. You play a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of future generations of engineering profession. Your continued engagement is vital to the growth and success of our institute. By staying connected, you have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our institution and make a lasting impact on the lives of aspiring engineers.

There are numerous ways in which you can remain actively involved with your Alma Mater:

1. Mentorship Programs: Share your wealth of knowledge and professional experience by becoming a mentor to our current students. Guiding them through their academic and career journeys can be immensely rewarding, and your guidance will undoubtedly shape their future success.

2. Guest Lectures and Workshops: We invite you to deliver guest lectures, conduct workshops, or participate in panel discussions to inspire and enlighten our current students. Your expertise and insights can provide invaluable real-world perspectives, preparing our students for the challenges that lie ahead.

3. Continuing Education Program (CEP): Propose full course module under our Continuing Education Program (CEP) or contribute in it as an expert resource person. Your indispensable hands-on experience will become an asset for the capacity-building of the professionals at-large. We may achieve some of the objectives of the New Education Policy by engaging with you shoulder-to-shoulder.

4. Networking Events: Attend alumni networking events, reunions, and industry-specific gatherings to reconnect with former classmates, faculty members, and fellow alumni. These events provide a platform for professional networking, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas.

5. Alumni Chapters: Consider joining or establishing an alumni chapter in your region/city. These chapters serve as vibrant hubs of engagement, fostering connections, and organizing social, educational, and philanthropic initiatives.

6. Alumni Support: Your generous contributions, both financial and non-financial, can make a significant impact on the growth and development of our institution. By supporting scholarships, research initiatives, and infrastructural growth, you can help shape the future of DA-IICT.

The Alumni Office is committed to providing a seamless and enriching alumni experience, and we endeavour to keep you informed about the latest happenings, achievements, and initiatives at our institute. We encourage you to update your contact information through our dedicated alumni portal so that we can stay connected and keep you apprised of the opportunities and events tailored specifically for you.

Remember, your experiences, achievements, triumphs, and emotional attachment with the Alma Mater are the four pillars upon which our institution stands and will remain stable. Your continued involvement is a testament to the enduring spirit of our community and the shared values that glue us.

On behalf of the entire DA-IICT family, I extend my deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. I eagerly look forward to witnessing the positive impact your engagement will undoubtedly have on the future generations of engineers and Indians at large.

With warm regards

Anil K. Roy
