Minimum Eligibility Criteria (Applicable to all disciplines except Interaction Design)
Candidates must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline, with a First Class or equivalent grade in the preceding degree(s), and an excellent academic record throughout; and
- Demonstrated research excellence, evidenced by high-quality publications in reputed journals and/or leading conferences in the relevant field.
Assistant Professor
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, strong research potential, and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Candidates with postdoctoral research experience will be given preference.
Associate Professor
Applicants should have a minimum of six years of post-Ph.D. experience in teaching, research, or relevant professional practice, of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor in a higher educational institution or an equivalent position. Candidates are expected to have an established research profile, demonstrated through high-quality publications, externally funded research projects or grants, and experience in supervising doctoral students.

The CV should provide comprehensive information on:

- Publications in journals, conferences, books, patents, and other scholarly outputs;
- Research projects, grants, awards, recognitions, and professional activities;

2. Research Statement
A concise statement describing:

Salary per year in Cost to the Institute (CTI) format
Assistant Professor: Minimum starting salary is ₹20 Lakh per annum.
(Exceptionally qualified and experienced candidates may be considered for higher compensation and additional incentives commensurate with their credentials, achievements, and potential contributions.)

Research Support and Professional Development
- Seed Research Grant: Up to ₹10 Lakh to support the establishment of research activities and laboratory infrastructure.
- Professional Development Allowance: A cumulative allowance of ₹3 Lakh every three years (on a reimbursable basis) to support participation in national and international conferences, workshops, and other professional development activities.
- Research Excellence Incentive: Financial reward of ₹1 Lakh for each publication in top-tier A/A-ranked conferences* and Q1 journals.
Health, Insurance and Other Benefits
- Comprehensive Medical Insurance: Health insurance coverage of up to ₹10 Lakh per annum for the faculty member and eligible family members under a floater policy. The entire premium is borne by the Institute.
- OPD medical reimbursement: ₹5000 per month for OPD medical expenses.
- Children Education Allowances: ₹50000 per year (₹25000 per child, and coverage up to two children.)
- Leave Travel Concession: ₹1.5 Lakh for a 4-year block.
- Interest free loan up to ₹5 Lakh.
- On-campus medical facilities, including visiting doctors and access to basic medicines through the University’s Medical Centre.
Leave and Work-Life Balance
- Casual Leave: 8 days per year.
- Special Casual Leave: 15 days per year.
- Vacation: Up to 60 days of vacation annually. Unavailed vacation is converted to earned leave (up to 30 days per year).
- Earned Leave Encashment: Accumulated earned leave is encashable upon separation from the University, as per applicable policies.
Career Growth
- Career Progression (Policy): A transparent and well-defined faculty career advancement framework that recognizes excellence in teaching, research, and institutional service.
- Teaching Load: Faculty members typically teach three courses per academic year. To facilitate a smooth transition, newly appointed faculty members are assigned a reduced teaching load of two courses during their first year (one course per semester).

Academics and Teaching Infrastructure
DAU offers a teaching environment that promotes academic excellence while ensuring a balanced workload for faculty members. Typically, faculty members teach three courses per academic year, usually distributed as two courses in one semester and one course in the other.
Faculty teaching core undergraduate and postgraduate courses are supported by Teaching Assistants, with the number of TAs allocated based on course enrolment. This support enables faculty members to devote greater attention to pedagogy, mentoring, and research.
