Head - Career Planning & Placement
Role Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for leading and managing the university's career services department, overseeing and enhancing the placement process for students, and fostering strong relationships with employers and industry partners. This role is pivotal in connecting students with employment opportunities and supporting their career development.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- MBA or Any equivalent Master’s degree with minimum 12 years of relevant experience, including 7 years of managerial experience.
- An undergraduate degree in Engineering/Technology/Information Technology will be preferable.
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal relationship skills and result orientation.
- Proven experience in career counselling, job placement, or related fields.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and employers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive placement strategy in alignment with the Institutes’ academic programs and the evolving job market.
- Coordinates with the industries for providing the vocational training courses to students.
- Coordinates with the different industries for on-campus and off-campus interviews of the meritorious students for providing suitable jobs in their organizations.
- Coordinating with employers, placement officers run background checks on students who seek internships or externships to verify students have the prerequisite education and meet all additional requirements for these companies’ positions.
- To work in consultation with coordinator Industry–Institute interaction for organizing webinars/lectures from the professionals and industry experts.
- Develop a Placement Preparation Module which provides guidance / preparation to the students for campus placement
- Reviewing the performance of students working in the Corporate Sector in various capacities (Final Placement, Summer Training, Projects etc.) by taking feedback from companies.
- Organizing of workshops/seminars at regular intervals for training of mangers / faculty members of various organisations.
- Arrange training programmes for soft skills and for interview facing skills for the students using institutional and external expertise.
- To prepare Placement reports after Placement Drive/Job Fairs.
- To develop Management Information System (MIS) on placement of passed out students and to create database of recruiting industries and organization.
- Help students to develop and implement successful job search strategies.
- Work with faculty members, department heads and administration to integrate career planning with academic curriculum.
- Providing resources and activities to facilitate the career-planning process.
- Act as an interface among students, alumni and the employment community.
- Create awareness in the students regarding future career options.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for institute’s leadership on placement outcomes and departmental performance.
- Performs any other related role as determined by the Authority.
