Please give the program overview for Ph.D.

Ph.D. rolling admission is aimed at inviting candidates who have a clear idea of the research area or research problems they want to pursue.

The interested candidates are first expected to interact with the concerned faculty member(s) at DA-IICT to explore the research areas and topics of their interest. The details of the faculty members with their research interests can be found here.

Under the Ph.D. rolling admission scheme, applications are invited throughout the year and will be reviewed on a quarterly basis, tentatively in the month of March/June/September/December.

What are the disciplines for the doctoral program?

ICT & allied disciplines, Mathematical & Computational Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences. Candidates interested in any of these disciplines, or in interdisciplinary areas, are encouraged to apply.

What is the program structure of Ph.D.?

The PhD program comprises of both course and research work. The amount of coursework one has to undergo depends on the candidates' past background and the research one is engaged in. The research work to be undertaken for PhD must include original contribution to the knowledge reserve culminating in a thesis to be submitted for the doctoral degree.

What is the intake for Ph.D.?

Institute reserves the right to admit as many as candidates depending on their credentials and potential.

What are the categories for Ph.D.?

(1) Sponsored Candidates, (2) Candidates with fellowship, (3) JRF/SRF (GATE or NET qualified):

What is the fee structure for Ph.D.?

At the time of counselling an amount of Rs. 50,000/- (Rs. 25,000/- towards tuition fee for the first Semester and Rs. 25, 000/- towards caution deposit) is to be paid by way of bank draft drawn in favour of ‘DA-IICT,’ payable at Ahmedabad. The registration fee is payable at the time of registration and hostel rent on allotment of the hostel room.

What is the fee for Ph.D. per semester?

Tuition fee Rs. 25,000 per Semester, applicable from academic year 2024-2025.
Registration Fee Rs. 2,500 per Semester
Caution Deposit Rs. 25,000 (Refundable at the end of the Program)
Hostel Rent Rs. 27,500 per semester
Food On actuals. There are multiple food options available in the campus (The expense will be approximately Rs. 5,500 per month)

Subject to revision every Academic Year from 8 to 10%.

What is the refund policy for Ph.D. candidates?

The refund policy for the withdrawing candidates will be in accordance with the UGC rules.

What are the stipendary benefits for Ph.D. candidates?

Institute may consider to provide financial assistance at par with regular fellowship to the desirable candidates who will not be able to avail JRF/SRF or UGN-NET financial assistance/stipend.

Can we withdraw our Application?

No.

Does hostel rooms have A.C?

No, all the rooms in the hostels are Non-A.C.

Are distance learning courses available at DAIICT?

No, at present, we do not offer any distance learning programs.

Is there any certification program available at DAIICT?

No, we don't offer any certification Program.

Is there any age limit to apply for Ph D?

No, there is no any age limit to apply for Ph D
