DA-IICT extends its record of excellent placements, Google opens the drive for the first time
In our current times, campus placements are an essential and integral part of a student's college life. It's a golden opportunity for the students to kickstart their professions and provides a great foundation to build upon their careers. We, placement cell at DA-IICT take pride in the fact that we've consistently had prominent companies such as Microsoft, Sprinklr, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs (among many others) visit our campus every year; however, we still always aim at improving the quality and quantity of the placements and providing our students with the best of the best opportunities, and thus we were determined to bring one of the biggest tech firms in India, as well as in the world, to our campus. With our persistence and consistent efforts, we have made it possible, Google to visit our campus for the first time in the history of DA-IICT.
Since we had the best of the best four opportunities for our students - the four major tech companies Microsoft, Sprinklr, DE Shaw, and Google - visiting our campus for Summer Internship and Full-Time hiring, we decided to have a shared slot for the beginning of the drive on the very first day itself, which is something that has been going on in major first tier colleges for a while now but was implemented in the history of DA-IICT for the first time ever. Executing this, with everything being entirely online, required a lot of effort, persistence, and resolution on the placement cell's end as we had to manage the process of around 350-400 students of both the final and pre-final year for four companies at the same time. With the support and the tremendous effort of everyone involved and magnanimous planning beforehand, and for the most part, by good delegation of responsibilities among the members of student placement committee and the support of our Placement Manager Ms. Sneha Thakker and PC Convenor Prof Ahlad Kumar, we were able to make sure that no company nor any student fell short of our aid and assistance.
At the end of the day, our hard work and efforts paid off as students had 50+ fancy offers from Google, DE Shaw, Sprinklr, and Microsoft. Owing to the determination and diligence of the placement cell coordinators and the capabilities and well-rounded skill set of our students, we had a very successful first day of the shared slot for the first time at DA-IICT, and with pleasing results. This was the first step in making DA-IICT placements advance from one of the top colleges to the top college in its placements and we won't stop here.
