Jr. Civil Engineer

Position Reports: Sr. Estate Engineer Job Location: Gandhinagar, Gujarat

Main Purpose:

To perform, supervise, and coordinate professional civil or structural engineering work in the field and office, and to perform related works as required. General maintenance of the campus.

Qualification/Experience/Competency:
Qualification Full time Diploma in Civil OR full time Degree in Civil Engineering
Experience
  • Minimum five (05) years of experience in Civil/Construction field.
  • Preference will be given to them who have experience of working with residential university.
Competency
  • Responsible for managing minor and major works/projects, repairs and maintenance and supervising subordinate engineering staff performing several projects.
  • Competent in problem-solving, team building and procurement process.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, assign, train, instruct, assist, supervise, and evaluate the work of professional and technical staff.
  • Prepare technical and engineering correspondence and reports.
  • Provide technical expertise on matters pertaining to policies, procedures, practices, standards.
  • Recommend selection and fee negotiations to provide competent, cost effective consultants.
  • Plan, organize, direct and control resources assigned to best accomplish the assigned functions within budget and at maximum effectiveness.
  • Enforce the appropriate Institute Policies.
  • Prepare engineering documents including contract proposals, material lists etc. variety of works/projects.
  • Review and check drawings, calculations, contractors' shop drawings, and engineering drawings for construction, repair, and maintenance projects.
  • Review proposed projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate drawings with mechanical and electrical components.
  • Direct field crews engaged in a variety of engineering construction, maintenance, and repair activities on service contracts and projects.
  • Examine and check building plans and specifications for compliance with various codes and regulations to assure good construction practices and to determine errors in design or construction.
  • Provide guidance to technical or junior staff on code compliance matters.
  • Act as a liaison between the Institute and other statutory authorities
  • Provide responsive, high quality service to community and representatives of outside agencies by providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner.
