I am deeply invested in interdisciplinary academic inquiry in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Having been trained in English Literary Studies, Cultural Studies and Anthropology, I have taught courses in Social Theory, Comparative Literature and Gender Studies. Questions of method, especially comparative approaches to ethnographic and literary narrative are of particular interest to me. My current research has to do with the politics of democracy and representation of minorities in the Deccani city of Hyderabad. Film Studies, feminist theory and the history of feminist movements in South Asia are included in my broader research interests.
